SHIATSU

Shiatsu is an energy-based therapy that originated within the Asian Healing Arts. It incorporates techniques of traditional Japanese massage, acupressure, stretching, and some aspects of Western massage. It also incorporates the theory of acupuncture which proposes that energy, known as “Chi” ( or “Ki”) moves through the body along well defined passageways called meridians. Creating balance in these energy flows is considered to be essential for health and well-being. Shiatsu, which involves application of pressure on energy points and energy pathways, has been found exceptionally effective for stress-reduction, reducing fatigue and alleviating a wide spectrum of symptoms. Sessions are performed fully clothed on a futon. It is suggested that you wear comfortable, loose fitting clothes and socks.

Shiatsu Shin Tai expands on traditional Shiatsu massage to create a truly evolutionary system. The goal of a Shin Tai session is to increase available life force, activating the body to align physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. Deeply compressed stress patterns lift out of the body, allowing the increased flow of internal life force to expand your self-healing and self-regenerative capabilities. Then the free flowing information system of the body can function without interference from outdated information. When life force is recovered, the physical body functions better, the emotions respond more appropriately, and the mind is free from past time filters. Shiatsu Shin Tai is a natural form of stress reduction and more.

Shiatsu is safe to receive during pregnancy. Please let your practitioner know if you are pregnant and she can tailor the session for you.
