Tip 2 for Staying Happy, Healthy and Peaceful in Crazy Times

Last week I offered my first of 8 easy tips for staying sane in the craziness of a busy life. It's been amazing to read all of the emails and comments of how people have integrated 'looking up' into their life! Thank you! This week, I'm offering the second tool from my private toolkit. It's one of the best ways I've found to change my mood, release stuck energy (physical or emotional), keep things moving in a positive direction, and cheer up other people when they're in a poopy mood.Tip #2 Have a Weekly Dance PartyDance Party at our weekly staff meetingMoving your body is quite literally one of the easiest ways to shake things up, and it doesn't take a lot of time. Find some music that you like to groove to, play at least one song as LOUD as you can (louder than you think is actually acceptable) and just do it- shake your booty. Shake your whole body. Head to toe, feet to hands, belly to boobs, let everything jiggle. Yell and hoot and holler if you want an even better result. You can also use this method to help your friends and co-workers: institute a daily or weekly one-song dance party at your work or in your household. Let a different person pick a song each time. Let everyone move how and if they like without requirement. Walla! In under 5 minutes happiness ensues! Here are some of our staff picks for songs we love. Give the one-song dance party a try this week and let me know how it goes. If you think it's just too silly, please refer to my post on sacred-not-serious.If the silly factor overwhelms, don't fret. Next week we'll move on to far more serious tactics for making exceedingly easy changes to your home that can radically change your life.selfreikiMy name is Kim Fleisher and I’m the director of The Reiki School + Clinic and I have a scholarly geek brain that is intensely organized and learning-driven. I’m a teacher at heart and that’s why our Reiki classes are so long – because real learning takes place over time, by DOING.I’m going to give you one tip a week with the invitation to try it for a week and let me know if it helps! Feel free to share any tweaks you make to the process (making it your own helps seal the deal of learning/integrating any new skill), or share your own tips for staying healthy (the ability to explain what you know is a key step to mastery).
