Student Policies
All students are advised to purchase student liability insurance, in addition to the cost of tuition, and provide proof of insurance by the first day of class. Student Liability Insurance is different than health insurance; it insures that students are covered/protected in class, clinic and in all school-sanctioned activities, against any alleged damage or injury to a client. You can purchase your insurance from any legitimate provider. Both the ABMP(Association of Bodywork and Massage Professionals), the IARP(International Association of Reiki Professionals), and Massage Magazine offer student insurance. If you already have professional liability insurance that covers Reiki, you do not need to purchase student insurance. Simply submit to us your proof of professional coverage. You will be given information on how to purchase this insurance in your student orientation package. If you choose not to purchase student insurance, you will be required to sign a 'student certification of insurance coverage opt-out '. This form states that you've been advised of the benefits of student liability insurance and have chosen not to purchase it.
- Please Note: Policies and Procedures are subject to change without notice. The school retains the right to change requirements, regulations, and fees at any time. Provisions contained herein supersede all of those previously published and do not constitute an irrevocable contract between the student and the school. Policy changes will be on file.
- Admission/Registration: Perspective students should first complete a registration form and submit a class deposit. You can register for any class on it's respective training page. Incomplete application forms or applications sent without deposits will be returned. Accepted application forms will be confirmed and will hold your space. If a note from your therapist is necessary, it must be provided before the start of classes.
- Tuition deposits are nonrefundable.
- The Reiki School and Clinic accepts payments in the form of cash, check, money order or credit card (not all types of credit cards are accepted). PLEASE DO NOT MAIL CASH. Credit card payments must be made via our website.
- Students will receive an invoice/contract with payment dates upon acceptance into the program. Students who fail to make payments on time face suspension or dismissal from the program.
- Acceptance: TRSAC will determine final acceptance or rejection.
- Non-Discrimination Policy: TRSAC admits students of any color, race, ethnic origin, gender, religious background, or sexual orientation, to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities made available to the students at the school. TRSAC does not discriminate because of color, race, ethnic origin gender, religious background, or sexual orientation in its admissions policies, educational policies, scholarship programs, or any other school administered programs. All students, staff and faculty must adhere to the TRSAC non-discrimination policy at all times. Violations of the policy will result in immediate dismissal from the program or employment.
- Course Start Date: TRSAC reserves the right to postpone the start date of a class until said class is filled. Students who are unable to attend due to a class postponement are entitled to a full refund of the balance, minus the initial deposit.
- Attendance and Lateness: The first five classes for Reiki 1 and Reiki 2 are mandatory, as well as the first class of Reiki 3. If you miss one of these classes, you are required to do a make-up. Make-up classes can be scheduled with your classroom teacher for a fee of $60 or at no cost in an equivalent class, if available. Three or more absences in any given course will result in non-completion of the course and no certificate will be awarded. Students are responsible for making up any material or assignments missed. Students can make-up a class by participating in the equivalent class of another course, if it is available, at no additional cost. If an equivalent class is not available, students can arrange for a private make-up with a teacher. The cost of a private make-up is $60 per session. As a courtesy to the class, please call or email if you will be absent or late. Three lateness's of ten minutes or more count as an official absence.
