Is The Practice of Reiki Right For Me?

You might be wondering if receiving Reiki sessions will help with your pain, take away your depression, or give you relief from a specific issue? Should you come for a Reiki treatment? What are the benefits?

Reiki practice treats the whole person. Sessions are inherently balancing, meaning they help your whole self (mind, body and spirit) move towards wellness.  When you are balanced, unpleasant symptoms may naturally fall away.  Pain, tension, and stress can be released, and your bodies inner healing mechanisms engaged as a result of the sessions. Although the practice often offers localized comfort (i.e if your head hurts a practitioner will put their hands there and the pain may be relieved), Reiki sessions don't aim specifically to  treat particular challenges or issues. The whole-person balancing effect often yields specific results- many people report that they feel better afterwards.

We live in a very fast-paced world where the habits and velocity of daily life are daunting. Reiki is a spiritual practice that helps you to slow down, to come back to yourself and your sense of balance. Reiki practice makes a space for you to push your own reset button and engage your inner resources.

We all have an internal compass that knows our true north.  Reiki treatments help guide you back home to your own sense of wellness.

There are different ways to engage in Reiki practice.  You can receive sessions (or treaments) from a practitioner, or you can undergo simple training to learn to give Reiki treatments to yourself (and others).

If you've never experienced a Reiki session, we recommend first that you come in and receive a Reiki session from a trained practitioner.  If you’re experiencing an acute problem, or are going through a particularly challenging time, we recommend multiple treatments within a short period to provide the most balancing benefit.

Once you feel better, or if you’re coming to Reiki to maintain your wellbeing, regular Reiki treatments can really help. Many clients come monthly or bi-monthly, others come weekly or even yearly. You and your practitioner can decide on the optimal length of time between treatments that will support you in feeling your best.

Some commonly reported benefits of treatments include:

  • Pain relief/management
  • Stress relief
  • Easing tension
  • Mental and emotional balance
  • Nurturing and support for dis-ease and/or difficult times
  • Managing the side effects of some conventional medical treatments
  • Increasing creativity
  • Increasing self-awareness
  • Increasing Clarity, Focus
  • Stimulating/Accelerating the healing process
  • Strengthening the immune system
  • Spiritual growth
  • Increasing energy level
